Our Term 3 courses are specifically designed for Year 4 students who are aiming for Selective school placement or independent school scholarships.

We know that early, focused preparation makes all the difference, and our courses are designed to give students a meaningful head start, laying the strong foundations they need to meet the demands of these challenging exams. 

Through a rigorous yet engaging curriculum, our course systematically sharpen students' abilities across all the critical areas assessed in selective and scholarship exams. Each lesson is thoughtfully structured to introduce and reinforce essential concepts, ensuring that students develop a deep and confident understanding that grows progressively throughout the term.

Year 4 WEMT Course Content

The Year 4 WEMT (Writing, English, Maths and Thinking Skills) course is back with an updated curriculum, designed to build the essential skills students need to succeed in selective high school and independent school scholarship exams. Through structured, progressive lessons, students will develop genuine competency across all key areas, setting them up for long-term academic success.

Effective Writing Strategies:  Learn to how to plan, structure, and organise persuasive and creative writing with clarity, purpose, and impact. 

 

English reading comprehension:  Develop proven techniques to interpret challenging texts, identify key ideas, and answer multiple-choice questions accurately and confidently. 

 

mathematics:  Gain a thorough understanding of essential mathematical concepts, key formulas, and effective problem-solving techniques through clear and engaging instruction. 

Thinking skills & Problem-solving;  Sharpen critical thinking and analytical reasoning through stimulating exercises that challenging students to think independently and creatively.

Year 4 Thinking Skills Intermediate Course

We are thrilled to introduce a new "Thinking Skills Intermediate" Course for our students. This course has been specially designed to foster the development of problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, equipping our students with the necessary skills for success in their academic journey and ultimately, for the OC placement test. With a comprehensive focus on preparing them for the OC exam thinking skills component, the course will cover a diverse array of essential topics.

Year 4 Thinking Skills Intermediate Course Outline

  • The course aims to provide students with the tools and techniques to approach challenges with confidence and creativity.

  • Through engaging activities and thought-provoking exercises, our dedicated teacher will guide students on their path to becoming proficient critical thinkers. 

  • Students will learn effective problem-solving skills to tackle complex issues in various subjects. 

  • Students will be encouraged to analyse, evaluate, and draw reasoned conclusions from the information they encounter.

  • As students develop their thinking skills, they will gain confidence in their abilities to excl academically.

  • The course is open to Year 4 students who are aiming for selective school placement and will cover esscential topics to equip them with the necessary knowledge for the thinking skills test.
